COLUMBUS RIVERWALK
The Columbus Riverwalk, located at Riverside Park in downtown Columbus, is one of the greatest assets Columbus offers. Located on the banks of the Tennessee-Tombigbee River, it is not only used for exercise, but also as a venue for several special events throughout the year. Some of these events include the Market Street Festival 5K Run and Concert, Sounds of Summer, weddings, family reunions, community fundraisers and many more!
Throughout the building process, the vision for the Riverwalk was to enhance economic growth while attracting tourists and local citizens to this beautiful area. The Riverwalk is a place to exercise, have fun and utilize one of our most valuable resources – The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway.
Today, a lovely 2.1-mile paved and lit walking trail is used by hundreds daily. Complete with pavilions, mile markers, benches, picnic tables, trash cans, a covered stage, water fountains, pet stations and restrooms, The Riverwalk offers a beautiful setting full of history, nature and a view of the river to those of all ages.
Continued improvements and maintenance ensure that the Riverwalk will be an asset to our community for years to come!
